Best Selling Cookbook Author

Shari Darling is the syndicated newspaper columnist, The Sophisticated Wino. She has written several books and cookbooks on food and wine, two of them being best-sellers; Canada’s Wine Country Cookbook and Harmony On The Palate .

Shari developed the first dry rub, Sweet Jerk, to use in her corporate workshops. Her clients insisted she sell the rub to them to give as gifts to their friends and clients. In 2007, Shari finally released Sweet Jerk into the retail sector for all wine lovers. The dry rub line now includes three other rubs; Cajun Quickie, Tickle My Ribs, and French Kiss. Other artisan food products for the wine lover are in development.

Her previous cookbook was entitled Harmony On The Palate. Harmony celebrates breakthrough principles in pairing wine with food, along with simple recipes and matching wine notes.

Her new book, Orgasmic Appetizers and Matching Wines - Tiny Bites with the MOAN FACTOR builds on the principles first started in Harmony on the Palate.

Shari is also the creator of the Icewine Flavour Wheel and The Canadian Wine Wheel, Canada's only learning tools used to educate food and wine lovers about Canadian wine. Using her learning tools, Shari teaches a credited wine course at Fleming College in the Kawarthas, Ontario. She is also contracted by fine restaurant and restaurant chains to train chefs, serving staff and sommeliers about food and wine pairing. Two of her clients include The Imago Restaurant Group in Ontario, and the chain of successful Vancouver restaurants including the Sequoia Grill, The Sandbar, Cardero's, and Seasons in the Park.

As a feature writer, Shari writes articles for several magazines, including Canada's national TIDINGS.

Shari Darling was co-host of the national TV series, "Simply Wine and Cheese" with the late Al Waxman. She was also the regular "resident wine expert" on the national daily TV show "Homestyle" with Anne Kennedy. Author, co-author and ghostwriter, for her books Shari has been interviewed on news and lifestyle programs throughout Canada, such as Dini Petty, Breakfast TV, WTN Weekday, Canadian Living Magazine TV, Global News, CFTO News, CTV News and many more.

She has served as a wine judge in places such as Canada, New York and Beijing.
